Go see this -- you won't be sorry! Review by: ginny, Jun 26, 2011 |
| This show is very well done. All featured actors--Jim Belushi, Robert Sean Leonard and Nina Arianda--give strong perfomances. I think Nina Arianda is the breakout star of this production--look forward to seeing more of her. Overall, I would highly recommend. |

Nina Arianda Born Today STAR!!! Review by: Diract 66, Jun 24, 2011 |
| Nina you was robbed!! The Tony should have been yours to keep! An excellent show stealing star making performance by Nina Arianda that should be seen and appreciated. The’ Gin game’ and the scene between her and Robert Sean Leonard in Act two were terrific. Jim Belushi has the character traits and pompous attitude of his junk yard dealer. The most fantastic thing is the hotel room setting that strikes you as the curtain opens. This ... read more is the first applause, and from that time continuous laughter. Of course, there is the time period when this play was written, a lot of drinking, smoking, and anger on stage, but no cursing which would be the case if written today. The politics of 1946 in Washington DC is, unfortunately, not changed in 2011. Money talks, but love wins in the end. If we all could acquire the wisdom of Billie Dawn in two hours this would be a much better country. Go quickly to the theatre and see what I mean. |

Nina Arianda steals the show! Review by: Corey Ryan, Jun 20, 2011 |
| Nina Arianda blew my group of 15 away. What an amazing performance by a new, beautiful, budding actress. She carried and stole the show from Jim Belushi and Robert Sean Leonard. The character development of all characters was amazing! And the storyline was great! The one line punches from Arianda had the crowd rolling in the aisles the whole show. Great show! Definitely recommend it! |

AMAZING! FUNNY! Everything You Want in a Broadway Show! Review by: JackieM, May 11, 2011 |
Enchanting! Funny! Romantic! This play has everything. It's beautiful to look at and the cast is A list all the way. It makes you laugh. It touches your heart. Turns out Jim Belushi is a great stage actor. Robert Sean Leonard is back where he belongs and Nina Arianda is going to be one of the biggest stage stars to come around in years. She is a thrill to watch. The image of her in Act 1 finale costume will stick in your head and ... read more you'll laugh thinking her moves and lines days after the show. It's a pretty standard love triangle plot. However, it has an interesting political backdrop and it's telling that political corruption has not changed much in 60 years from when this play was written. A great comedy with a lot to say. You should go and you'll have a great time. I brought a date. They kissed me at the end of it. |

GO HAVE FUN! YOU'LL LAUGH TILL YOU CRY! Review by: Tyler32, May 9, 2011 |
You'll Laugh until it hurts! You should go. This is the best comedy of the season. It feels so fresh! It's hard to believe the play is a revival. The relationships and politics seem so current! The production values are stunning and the cast is excellent all around. The story is something anyone and every can enjoy. It was a true crime that this was not nominated for a Best Revival Tony. Because it is far far far superior to ARCADIA and ... read more EARNEST. It feels fresh and current. It did get a nomination for Nina Arianda's truly thrilling turn as Billie Dawn. If there is any justice she will win Best Actress come June. It really is a production that everyone should see. |

WOW- A true new stage star is born! And in a really FUN comedy! Review by: PeterM242, May 6, 2011 |
I left the theatre glowing last night. My face hurt from smiling and laughing so much. The cast is excellent. Robert Sean Leonard is such a pro and so lovable! It was great to have him back on Broadway and nice to see him in a comedy rather than something grim. Jim Belushi is a very good stage actor! A really great surprise. Who knew? He gave so much heart to a character that could easily be a flat our monster. I also give props to both ... read more of these for supporting the debut a enchanting & thrilling new talent.... NINA ARIANDA! Just WOW. Just is giving such a tour de force. Funny. Touching. It's like watching history being made. Anyone who loves theatre should see this. (you'll have fun to) but you'll get to say you saw the birth of the next mega stage star. It was also beautifully designed and directed. Perfect spring & Summer Fun! |

Born Yesterday - See Today Review by: DE loves B-way, May 1, 2011 |
| Thoroughly enjoyable revival of a remarkably written play that's as relevant today as it was 60+ years ago. Belushi's performance was spot-on -- his ability to portray Harry's brutish crassness while still conveying an underlying likeability and even pathos was no small feat of accomplishment. Arianda was a revelatory delight -- transformational and evolutionary in all the right ways. Leonard portrayed the voice of calm and reason ... read more in the midst of all the insanity -- a little too passionless, perhaps, but a necessary contrasting foil to the hyperbolic emotions surrounding him. Born Yesterday was an utter delight and I can't recommend it more highly! |

Such Fun! Review by: EddieM, Apr 28, 2011 |
This show was so much fun! Nina Arianda is the giving the kind of performance you know you'll be telling your grandkids about. She is going to be a huge star. The set & costumes are beautiful. The cast, (there are like 12 or more of them) are great. It felt good to see a play where you felt you were getting what you paid for. It's the best revival I've seen this year and welcome tonic after the dull Arcadia and Blue Leaves. |

Best Kept Secret on Broadway Review by: mandi, Apr 23, 2011 |
| Best night at a non-musical my family and I have had in years. This is going to be the sleeper revival hit of the season. Great performances by Jim Belushi, Nina Arianda (a true star that has turned this role into a tour de force) and Robert Sean Leonard that kept you laughing and engaged throughout the show. Add all that to a beautiful set and a classic script and you have a return to the great days of Broadway. My vote is with the most ... read more recent reviewers ---- this is a must see. |

Best Revival of the Spring! Funny & Topical! Review by: AlexMichaels, Apr 23, 2011 |
| This revival was one of the most fun nights i've had at the theatre in years! The story is a classic and you'll be familar with it, it's a common tale, but told with sparkle and style. The cast is top notch all around with Nina Arianda th most exciting new star in ages! The design is elegant and beautiful. You just don't see productions like this anymore and it was a treat. The biggest surprise was how topical and relevant the politics ... read more of the story are today. It says so much about country. Go see this, you'll have fun! |

Superb! Review by: BobbyB, Apr 20, 2011 |
| Believe it or not, but Belushi is broadway comic gold in this production. As others have said Nina is absolutely delightful and between the two of them this is a can't miss performance. Was a little hesitant based on some of the early reviews but either we have very different tastes or the cast has really pulled it together. Either way, do your self a favor and make the time to see this one. |

Review by: Rex, Bx, Apr 6, 2011 |
| Absolutely loved it. What a wonderful cast. A light comedy Jim Belushi was entertaining and funny as was the rest of the cast.Nina Arianda portrayed the role of Billy Dawn with excellent comic timing, and Robert Sean Leonard played the role of Paul, a reporter who is hired to teach Billy Dawn and lead her to sophistication, beautifully. It was a comedic version of Pygmalion. Go see it!! |

Great comedy with amazing performance by female lead, would see it again! Review by: theaterbuff, Apr 5, 2011 |
| I saw this play on 3/31 - first preview performance. While some of the cast were obviously nervous at the start, and their timing needs some work, I really enjoyed the play. Nina Arianda, the female lead, was simply amazing. Hard to believe she's only 26. Her comic timing was impeccable. I wasn't sure what to expect out of Jim Belushi but I thought he was perfectly cast. I much prefer the play over the movie. I thought the dialogue was ... read more much faster paced in the play; the movie dragged in spots. The set design was stunning. I may go see the play again after it opens just to see Nina Arianda again. She really is that good. |

So disappointed ... warning friends not to see Review by: LyndaB, Apr 3, 2011 |
| So disappointed ... love Jim Belusi and Robert Sean Leonard ... but this was a show that was painful to sit through. The man in front of me told his companion ... this story is really funny we will have to go home and watch the movie ... agree highly. People were walking out and my husband spent more than 50% of the play sleeping (which isn't like him) ... all the characters came across as one dimentional and there truly was very little to laugh ... read more about or like. |
