Pleasant Surprise!!! Review by: Cops, Nov 23, 2011 |
| Saw this show on 11/22 & was not expecting much. The show was really very good. The music was pleasing and the cast excellent. Although I preferred the first act, the show never dragged and the audience gave a standing ovation at the close. It was a very pleasant evening. |

| WOW,BWAY NEEDS MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS.YOU WOULD THINK A MUSCIAL BASED ON BONNIE@CLYDE COULD NEVER BE MADE INTO A MUSCIAL,BUT IT HAS BEEN.RIGHT FROM THE OPENING TO THE LAST SCENE,THIS SHOWS MOVES WITHOUT ONE DULL MOMENT.THE ENTIRE CAST IS GREAT.WE ALL THE STORY LINE,BUT THATS NOT IMPORTANT.THE SINGING AND ACTING IS,ALSO THE STAGING IS SOMETHING TO SEE.DON'T MISS THIS SHOW. |

| First act was very good, second act was average only because story line was thin. The staging and lighting was well done.Bonnie,s singing was great,Clyde,s was average by comparision.I think it will be around at least until the Tony,s. |

YES, this show is a winner! Review by: ralphie, Nov 13, 2011 |
Bonnie and Clyde is the most refreshing and innovative new musical in some time. Lively, bright, fresh, and loaded with story-power, fine performances, top-flight music. Laura Osnes, besides being an exceptional singer and actress --- we've seen her in 4 shows --- is just a knockout to look at. Her slender snake-like body kept my eyes glued to her no matter what else was going on. The show is definitely not --- and does not claim to be ... read more -- a musical version of the movie. The movie was created as a glamourization of the story. The Broadway show is 98% different from the film. Scene-for-scene, no copying at all. |

Very Entertaining Evening Review by: Carol, Nov 11, 2011 |
Bonnie and Clyde is an off-beat love story. It's almost a prequel to the 1967 movie with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. While a Broadway show can never duplicate the scope of setting in a movie, the staging is amazing with its projections and wooden scrims. Laura Osnes as Bonnie Parker and Jeremy Jordan as Clyde Barrow are extraordinary in their roles. They sing and touch your heart as they break the law. The audience was on their side ... read more throughout the journey through the underbelly of life during the Depression. Despite the bloodbaths on stage, the audience connects with Bonnie and Clyde as lovers destined to die in a hail of bullets because of their lifestlye. |

Bonnie and Clyde : Bangup show Review by: rskblueyes, Nov 10, 2011 |
Well Broadways favorite punching bag is back for another round. After 3 flops in a row ( Civil War, Dracula, and Wonderland) Frank Wildhorn is back for another round. Was a bit heistant about seeing this show after seeing Wonderland. I was a big fan of the 1967 movie, so I figured Id give it a try. Im glad I did! The opening number was fantasic, I loved how it was staged, in fact the whole show was staged very well. ... read more Ther performer all were great. Standouts being young Bonnie, Blanche and of course Laura Osens and Jeremey Jordan. The score, was much different then anything of Frank Wildhorn's shows Ive seen. Gone were the bubble gum pop ballads with the 10 key changes. This was a serious score with hints of rockabilly, tin pan alley, and 1930's music. My only gripe was the book. In my opinion it's a bit paper thin. Most of the scenes come off more like a sketch. It's a shame as the topics in the show are so currant now in todays economy. I think that the book will be only thing the critics will harp about. In short give this show a try, Im hoping that this show will finally make Wildhorn a critic darling instead of a punching bag. |

A great show. Review by: runway sue, Nov 9, 2011 |
| Saw this in previews and was very pleasantly surprised. I really loved it. The music was great and, even though the story is familar, the book sets up the backstory nicely and keeps the audience engaged the whole way through. All the performers were great, especially Clyde. It is a bit of a dark story,so it's not your light, feel-good musical with lots of dancing, but it is very well done and really enjoyable. Also the whole history ... read more of the times is quite apt for today so it really hits home. I would definately recommend it. |
