Beautiful talented dancers, entertaining. Review by: CAT, Apr 16, 2011 |
Forget about the bad reviews. It is of course not classic Broadway. If you are fanatic about flamenco forget it. It is experimental, choreography at least for flamenco pieces is tight. Dancers are amazingly beautiful. Music is way too loud, turn down the amplifiers, but singing is very good. Hip hop pieces are light and could be better based on the apparent talent of the dancers. Reactions from the rest of the family are, my senior parents ... read more said they saw flamenco in Spain and this was much more entertaining, and how beautiful the women were. ( year old son thought hip hop could be better (!), it was too loud, but that he really loved it. Of course his favorites were the hip hop dancers, particularly the fact that they let him bang on the drum during the show (!)but he has new appreciation of flamenco. He does not know MadMax so he was confused with the theme. My teenage daughter loved the glamor and flamenco dancing. Verdict, we are family who enjoy dancing and we loved the show.Do not look for a tight theme or theater, go to be entertained for most of the two hours. Worth the two hour drive for us. I do recommend it. |

Music without instruments and terrific dancing Review by: LD, Apr 3, 2011 |
A musical without musical instruments? Indeed! The most amazing talent of this group is that they actually create most of the music with nothing more then a drum (or a box in some instances), their feet and and their hands! Truly amazing. Audiences should know there is no dialog, there is no orchestra and what plot there is best learned by reading the Playbill before hand. So what do we have? We have dancing, dancing and more dancing. We ... read more have energy, energy and more energy. We have a talent group of young people and we have about two hours of enjoyment. Some people seemed lost and walked out but if you know what to expect you should be impressed with the results. My only criticism is that its about 10 to 15 minutes too long. |
