Amazing would see it again with all my heart. Review by: Beauty and the Beast Junkie , Jul 31, 2010 |
| This was my favorite movie ever since I was little and it is STILL my favorite. It was a touching story on Broadway just as on film! The new songs were AMA-zing the costumes just a great and so were the sets! I started to cry at the end of it all! I will remember this show forever! |

Best Disney Show Review by: showboy65, Apr 8, 2008 |
| Disney really should tour this show! It was wonderful. I am a fan of classic theatre and so this was the perfect show for me to see. The music gave me chills, the sets were surprisingly impressive. It was a great show. |

( REPLYING TO "FRAN" ) Review by: ELPHIE, Jun 12, 2007 |
( REPLYING TO "Fran" )
Dear Fran,
I would really go for 5TH ROW, MEZ. Becuase, she's not going to see a thing in the very back. You also might want to rent the movie before ( OR AFTER ) you see it so you two can compare it together.
Your Welcome! - ELHPIE |

Hurry up and see it before it closes!!!!! Amazing Show!! Review by: MusicalsFreak729, May 29, 2007 |
| Fabulous show, especially if you love big scene changes and special effects. The moving scenary and huge musical numbers really blew my mind, and I am an avid theatre goer! Also I really enjoyed the music. I am so sad to see if go! I would recommend for everyone to see it before it closes. |

Love the Show, but I Need Some Help Review by: Fran, May 22, 2007 |
| I saw this show years ago with my husband and I absolutely loved it - but I don't recall what theater I saw it in. Now I would like to take my 5-year old daughter. I have the option of rear orchestra center stage or 5th row front mezz right of stage. I tend to think that the mezzanine may be better viewing for a child, but want to ask someone who is familiar with the theater which seats I should choose. They are both the same price and I ... read more just want to get the seats that would enable my daughter to get the best view so she would get the most out of the show. Can someone help? Thanks! |

amazing show Review by: batbfan1, May 15, 2007 |
| Beauty & the Beast has been my favorite broadway show, I've seen it 8 times and going back at least one more time before it sadly ends. I don't want it to end, I'm so sad I made a petition... savebeautyandthebeast.com. if more people knew of it, there'd be plenty more signatures. |

An Amazing Show Review by: Selly, May 14, 2007 |
| This was the first Broadway show my husband and kids have seen and they absolutely loved it. The props and cast were great. Thanks for supplying the great discount, I was five rows away from the stage and the seats were amazing. |

I've seen it 5 times and will go one last time to say GOODBYE Review by: Ladybug86, Apr 10, 2007 |
Beauty and the Beast was the first Broadway show I experienced and this was the show that got me into Broadway performances. The singing, the acting, the energy the entire casts bring on the stage is phenomenal! I have seen this show 5 times and I have gone with family members, friends and other loved ones and every time, this cast pulls off a flawless performance! I just found out recently that this show was going off air after 13 years, ... read more I was devastated. Hopefully one day they will come back with a new cast and spark the life back into this Disney classic! I recommend this play in high regards and wish it would stay for another few years. |

It has it's place in history, but it's time for it to gracefully go... Review by: SunSimba, Mar 26, 2007 |
My boyfriend, cousin, and I saw Beauty and the Beast yesterday evening. For my cousin and I, it was our first time, and I'll say...it wasn't a bad show, some parts certainly stood out, but it also seems as if Disney is perhaps a bit overdue at closing up shop.
The show itself is solid. The story line moves along very similarly to the movie, the additional songs are appropriate for the show (the best being Gaston's "Me" & Belle's "A Change ... read more In Me")...the Beast's "If I Can't Love Her" just didn't stand out (more later on why). The other area that I can praise, even in this scaled down version, are the sets and effects. They do add vibrance to the show, particularly at entertaining the kids.
Now, the problems. This show has been around for 13 years, and anythinga round that long needs to stay fresh. Unfortunately this did not feel that way at all. Many of the ensemble particularly during their dance numbers, were not together in their steps, and almost seemed like they were just doing the show on autopilot, rather than given at least a B+ effort. Belle (Deborah Lew), Lumiere (understudy Brett Shuford), and Cogsworth (Jonathan Freeman) stood out to me, while Gaston (Stephen Buntrock) and Lefou (Aldrin Gonzalez) were still good. However, the one point that really dragged was Steve Blanchard as the Beast. He was not as nimble the beast should seem to be (on several occasions, needing 2nd or 3rd attempts at jumping up things), and he just threw away his songs with some mumbled vocals, and rhythm that was completely in disarray from the orchestra. He's played the rold for, I believe, 7-8 years, and it showed that he's simply become bored with the part.
The show, as Disney's first, still is a solid Broadway show (I'll grant I probably saw a less than stellar night), but still, it seems like it is time to move on, with the Little Mermaid hopefully bringing a breath of fresh air into the theatre.
As an aside, I have also seen Tarzan, which is the frequent target of criticism among Disney shows. It does not deserve it. While everyone is free to have their own likes and tastes, personally, I enjoy the Tarzan story line better, found myself with more songs stuck in my head afterwards than I did during Beauty and the Beast, and an overall better time. Yes Tarzan has minimalist sets compared to what's across the street, but it had much more engaging choreography, addictive songs, and a cast giving it their all. The show hasn't even been around for 2 whole years yet, give it a chance and realize it and Beauty and the Beast are two different shows. If you lose preconceived notions about what you think Tarzan NEEDS to be, and just sit back and watch what it IS, you'll be pleased. |

My 1st Broadway Show! Review by: Adelinabella, Mar 13, 2007 |
| I'm 29yrs old and this was my first time seeing a Broadway show. It was amazing! No matter how old you are, this play is for everyone. I learned my lesson though on having a friend pick out the seats. We sat at the top mezzanine and it was not comfortable at all. Absolutely no legroom. Lower mezzanine and orchestra seating is where you need to sit. |

I may not have made my point clear in the prior communication concerning front mezzanine seating. Since each row in this section is one step above the row directly in front, one has a clear view of the stage from any seat in the section. |

Review by: JW, Feb 28, 2007 |
To: Mom on a Mission
When I saw this show a couple of years ago, I sat in the fourth or fifth row center orchestra. As you would expect, these were excellent seats. However, if you plan on seeing this show with your children, I don't necessarily recommend orchestra seats. Unless children are sitting in the seats directly in front of the seats your children are sitting in, your children may have a difficult time ... read more viewing the stage. Even if a child is sitting on a seat pillow, his/her view of the stage may be obstructed if a tall adult is sitting in front of him/her.
Therefore, I would recommend that you purchase front mezzanine seats, preferably in the center section or as close to the center as possible. Why? Mezzanine seats are elevated giving you a clear view of the stage from this section. More importantly, this show is playing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The first row of the front mezzanine in this theater overhangs the ninth row of the orchestra, which is close enough to see all that occurs on stage. Even the second or third rows of this section would be fine. By the way, this is a great show for kids or for that matter, everyone. Good luck. |

A MUST SEE SHOW ! Review by: Judy, Feb 12, 2007 |
| This is such an amazing show...I enjoyed every minute of it and it is really entertaining. In fact, I cried in the end :). It was that touching. The best part I love the most is when Beast turned back to being a handsome Prince. It was so cool. And oh, I just love Gaston. Everyone did their best...Your money is very worth it. |
