Superb. Review by: greengirl, May 12, 2013 |
| This Annie revival has it all. Lilla is a dream, Anthony brings a whole new dimension to the role of Daddy Warbucks, and Katie is a great Ms Hannigan. The show does its best to educate audience members about the depression, making the plights of both Annie and Warbucks all the more touching. It's modernized a bit and very, very creative. I completely recommend it for all ages! |

Annie, beats Matilda by a mile Review by: jerry, Mar 28, 2013 |
| Loved this show. So msny memorable songs (compared to Matilda). A timeless story with great kid and adult actors. Molly was our favorite, but Annie was great as well and has an amazing voice. See it. |

Annie - Over The Top Review by: rodeonav, Feb 26, 2013 |
"Annie" - my wife and I enjoyed the production from start to finish. We had right-hand side orchestra seats - great view. The music is simple yet poetic and mesmerizing. "Tomorrow" - who has not heard the words for the past 30+ years. Accents were OK - hey, it's NYC - ease up. The orchestra was superb, the sets simple yet effective, and the casting perfect. Lilla Crawford did a magnificent portrayal of Annie. Anthony Warlow was ... read more just powerful (incredible) as Daddy Warbucks. Katie Finneran made Ms Hannigan the lush that she was - great performer but dark character. Clarke Thorell was overthetop as Rooster singing "Easy Street". Worse part - didn't bring our granddaughters. Best part - we loved it and will bring granddaughters either separately or together next time! Run, don't walk, to see Annie! |

Fun, Fun, Fun!! Review by: Steve20A, Feb 22, 2013 |
| A great play for adults and kids. Went with my wife and 11 year old nephew. He laughed at Miss Hannigan and cried when Annie's "parents" showed up and she had to leave the next morning. It was a really fun evening. Go. Enjoy. Don't compare it to other productions. Don't be too serious about the scenery or the accents or the whatever. Just go and have a good time. |

Annie........'Maybe' Review by: Diract 66, Feb 15, 2013 |
| Annie has more positives than negatives in this revival, but 'It's a Hard Knock Life'. I just love the hanging wash across the stage as the opening curtain that greets you upon arrival, a very creative idea. The set pieces were also done well, especially in the scene where Annie arrives at Warbucks home and is taken through the mansion rooms. I think that Katie Finneran just steals the show with her way over the top performance as Mrs. Hannigan, ... read more and is sure to get a Tony for this comedic gem. Anthony Warlow is excellent as Warbucks, great singing, acting, and character development throughout the show. Annie, Lilla Crawford, is good but does not shine as Annie, and why the accent??? Is it really neccessary?? Why doesn't every orphan have one also?? Couldn't they get a dog with more personality?? Sunny,as Sandy, looks bored and is always focused off stage, head turned, to his trainer. There is no connection between the two during 'Tomorrow'. Great music and lyrics, though, keep the show moving along and it is a pleasant experience. The story of Annie drives the show for children in the audience, as well as the adults. The plot does contain characters names and events that are so far removed now, that many in the audience had no connection to these references, for laughter. This would account for the zero reaction to the song' We'd Like to Thank You' Herbert Hoover. My feeling is that this play is somewhere between Annie singing 'I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here' and Warbucks singing 'Something Was Missing'. The audience enjoyed this show. Have fun and see it. |

Annie gets an A+ Review by: Broadwaybaby97, Jan 26, 2013 |
| Just saw Annie for the second time within two months last night. Everything about this production is perfect. This show was brilliantly casted and there was never a dull moment on that stage. Katie Finneran is a goddess of musical theatre. |

Great show but Annie needs to loose the accent Review by: Pat, Jan 13, 2013 |
| The production of Annie was great! But Annie needs to loose the New York Accent. It was very annoying. Putting that aside the show was full of great singing and acting and is a must see for all Annie fans. |

Whole family loved it Review by: LD, Dec 25, 2012 |
Ok, ok, maybe not the very best of Broadway, but my granddaughter (6) was enthralled and watching her was more then worth the price. And no matter how many time you have seen it if you don't choke up when you hear that live orchestra play the overture, check your pulse. We brought the whole family and everybody loved it. |

I liked it Review by: MOE, Dec 21, 2012 |
| I read the reviews before going and was a little hesitant, but I loved it. Annie and the orphans stole the show. The orphans, especially Molly were very good. Annie fake accent was a little annoying, but overall this show is one of my favorites....I've seen four shows just this year and Ghost is my all time favorite. |

The Sun Has Come Out On Broadway! Review by: AnnieReviewer, Dec 1, 2012 |
Please do not listen to that terrible first review, this show was absolutely wonderful and was so much fun, go see it. First of all, literally everyone likes Annie. You can't not like it. If you want to see a show where it is GUARANTEED that you will be totally blown away, this is the show to pick. Everybody loves the songs. You're going to be singing them for the next week. The cast was AMAZING, the sets, costumes, and lighting were all ... read more GORGEOUS. The show is visually stunning. Not to mention the hilarious book (script) that made the audience roar with laughter and the timeless story and score. Lilla Crawford was the perfect Annie: sassy, funny, beautiful voice. She has talent far beyond her years. So much confidence on stage as well. Katie Finneran as Miss Hannigan was a major highlight of this production. She was perfect. Her characterization, including her character voice, were just perfect. And she is a brilliant actress. Anthony Warlow and the rest of the cast were all amazing as well. Other highlights include Madi Rae Depietro, who plays Orphan July, and Emily Rosenfeld, who plays Orphan Molly. This is THE perfect holiday show, go take the entire family. Also, this review is coming from someone who has seen numerous Broadway shows, and who has seen Broadway's greats (Patti LuPone, Michael Cerveris, Mandy Patinkin, etc.) perform. That must mean the show is good. :) |

Great show...but lose the fake NY accent! Review by: aimathy, Nov 6, 2012 |
| We took our three children (16, 12 and 4) to see Annie a few days ago. My 4 year old is enthralled with the movie right now and she was over the top excited. We really enjoyed the show and thought that overall, it was a good production. My 4 year old was so excited to hear the songs she knew and to see real kids up on stage. I'm glad that they got to see such a great performance and hopefully it will cultivate a love of theater for them. ... read more I have to admit though, one of the biggest negatives for us was Annie's fake New York accent! It wasn't a NY accent at all...sort of like a trying-too-hard-New-England accent. It was awful and very distracting. I would much rather have just had her speak with whatever accent she has naturally, rather than hear her botch words, especially during the songs. Other than that it is exactly what you'd expect from Annie...optimism, spunk and enjoyment. |

highly recommend this show! Review by: trulykp, Oct 29, 2012 |
My husband and I went to see Annie during previews and we both loved it! I felt all the actors were good. Lilla Crawford played the lead with some sass. Anthony Warlow's voice was amazing. I would love to see him in another role. The girl who played the smallest orphan was a scene stealer every time--the audience loved her! The only thing I missed from the first time I saw Annie (in a production in the 80's) was some great dancing by the ... read more orphan girls. The girls' dancing was staged differently, and although well done in this production, it wasn't quite as good as I remembered it. But all in all, it was well worth seeing: a musical with humor and heart. |
