A Cure for Insomnia Review by: musetta, Dec 10, 2010 |
| This was unfortunately one of the worst plays that we have seen at LCT. It was tedious to watch and we would have left at intermission [as half the audience did] but were with guests who also thought it was awful. I felt sorry for the actors who did the best job they could with awful material. |

A Free Man of Color Delights! Review by: BEVERLY, Nov 29, 2010 |
| The breathtaking quality of this play begins even before the curtain opens with an over-the-top setting consisting of Greek columns, huge masks of comedy and tragedy, and enormous curtains. Mos (formerly Mos Def) and Jeffery Wright turn in splendid acting jobs under the skilled direction of George Wolfe. This is definitely an "adult" drama that's frank about sexual exploits, adultery, human exploitation, and scandalous political behavior. ... read more It's a masterpiece on a Grand Scale. |

ugh. an annoying night. Review by: GothProf, Nov 8, 2010 |
| A totally annoying night. The text has merit, but the cast and direction is so affectedly annoying it became impossible to listen to. What happened? |

A treat all around Review by: Karine, Nov 5, 2010 |
| A Free Man Of Color was a treat to myself and I'm so glad I went. Needed a break from musicals! It is a complex play (in a good way)with a fabulous cast all around. It's a bit long but I did not mind it because the text and performances are so rich. Funny, funny. Broadway needed a play like this. |

| A hot mess! We left at intermission and that is a big deal for me - I want to enjoy the show. Granted, it's an early preview, and they may shape it up, but OY! too much of everything, except entertainment. LCT sort of fell off the cliff after South Pacific. |
