Chazz/Sonny is not wasted talent................ Review by: DaveC., Dec 5, 2007 |
I had front seats to this play, and Chazz was great. I was a little hesitant months ago to see him perform all the roles. Then I heard on O&A and other reviews of how good he was in this play. He did not dissapoint, and although Ive seen the movie and know it line by line, it was still very entertaining. If you grew up on the northern east coast, or in an italian neighborhood, it wont hurt to make it even more entertaining, funny and bring ... read more back memories. The music is also great for the older 50+ crowd with lots of older bands, doo-wop and such. Great one man show, check it out. |

Not Just any broadway show!!!!!! Review by: Kareem, Oct 29, 2007 |
| It is not like any other one-man show out there today. This show brought the movie to reality. Mr. Chazz Palminteri is the definition of a true actor. Best performance I ever say on Broadway. |

Is it better to be loved or feared? Go find out... Review by: CJ, Oct 27, 2007 |
A remarkable and passionate performance by Mr. Palminteri in his affectionate, semi-autobiographical play, “A Bronx Tale.” He captivated our audience and impressed us with his charming character portrayals, while accurately depicting a time and era of growing up in the Bronx long gone.
Thank you Mr. Palminteri for sharing your cherished memories with us, your father’s pearls of wisdom, and for your stellar performance.
An ... read more absolute must see on Broadway!
Mr. Palminteri kindly signed Playbills for us after the play for those of us who waited - about a half hour wait - well worth it.

See it if you can! Review by: , Oct 26, 2007 |
| We saw A Bronx Tale last night (official opening) and I can't believe how fortunate I am to have seen it. Wow! Chazz is superb! Ninty (90) uninterrupted minutes of giving your all has to be incredibly difficult. See it if you can. Well deserving of the standing ovation he received. Loved it! |

Just another Bronx tale? I don't think so! Review by: LimelightMike, Oct 23, 2007 |
In A Bronx Tale, actor and playwright Chazz Palminteri brings his classic coming-of-age story to vivid life, depicting a young boy's rough childhood in 1960s-era Bronx and the unforgettable people he encountered.
Young Cologio admires his devoted and hard-working father, Lorenzo, but when he strikes up a friendship with the dangerous but lovable local crime boss, Sonny, he's introduced to a whole new set of aspirations. ... read more Caught between the influences of two vastly different father figures, in a turbulent neighborhood on the brink of social change, "C" is forced to make difficult choices about friendship, love and family -- choices that can change his life forever.
A Bronx Tale premiered off-Broadway in 1989. A feature film version, with a screenplay by Palminteri and directed by Robert DeNiro, was released in 1993.
I had the pleasure of attending the evening performance on Monday, October 22nd, and was blown away! The talent that this one man carries with him for approx. 90-100 minutes is truly, truly, truly breathtaking. The set design is simple, yet *very* effective - the stoop, the lamp post, and of course, the bar where the mobsters hung out. The lighting design by Paul Gallo was lovely, really added A LOT to the production. The music involved implemented 'time and place' to the nines - fresh sounds the early 60's, of course. Lastly (but, of course, NOT least), Mr. Palminteri's performance ... If ever you're looking for an awe-inspiring, seat of your pants evening of theatre, see this show!
At a decent running time (approx. 90-100 minutes in length), the hour and a half FLIES right-on-by and you're left without even ONE regret. The story is told so eloquently and you truly understand and feel for the characters put forth - who they are, what they do (and, in some cases, did), how they tick, their innerworkings, and above all else, life lessons they teach. I got a little choked-up throughout the performance. A story of fathers and sons, for fathers and sons. Of love formed, lost, found, and reborn. The movie is good (not one of my favorites, but hey, to each his own), but this play is AMAZING. It'll make me look at the film in a whole different light 'cause a) what's onstage IS NOT the movie - Mr. Palminteri adds SO much more to the live fesitivities and b) as expected, there's more to 'garner' from seeing a story unfold before your eyes LIVE and in-person. Please, heed the call, get the tix, and experience a true gem of the modern-day theatre experience - Chazz Paliminteri in his B'way debut - starring in his self-penned dramedy of heroes and haters, living, taking, restoring and returning life, love, all the while recieing these nuggets of wisdom to carrry with you even after the curtain call. Just another Bronx tale? I don't think so! |

A One Man Talent!!! Review by: Dee, Oct 21, 2007 |
| I saw this show last Tuesday. The show highlighted Chazz creativity "to the max" as a actor. I was amazed how fast this show went and how engrossed I was, even though it was a one man show. His energy lit up the stage as he portrayed so many characters from the movie. This show is a must see this fall!!! |

Chazz is a Must See... Review by: Fantasy, Oct 20, 2007 |
| I saw this one man show two nights ago with my family. All I can say this is a brilliant a performance as any one man has ever accomplished in the history of Broadway. Chazz mesmerizes the audience as after ten minutes one is unaware that he is on the stage by himself. He continues unabated for 90 minutes in which you can hear a pindrop as he captivates his audience. The only regret I had was that we had seen the movie and knew the story ... read more beforehand. If not for that A Bronx Tale the Broadway show would have even been better if that is humanly possible. Kudo's to Chazz as he well deserved the standing ovation he received. |

Even better than expected... Review by: DrGuido, Oct 18, 2007 |
Six of us saw this (ages 64 to 28)together .....6-for-6 say he knocked the ball out of the park. After being such a fan of the movie for so long it's tough to imagine how effective--and affecting-- this one-man bravura performance could be. Stunning...engrossing...moving...funny and 'familiar'. Do not miss it! |

MAN OF MANY FACES Review by: Cindykenny, Oct 8, 2007 |
| I am not a fan of one man shows...but as talented as Chazz Palminteri is, you don't even realize HE'S the only actor on stage! For 90 minutes his Bronx Tale holds you in its grip and never lets go. We were sorry to see it end except that it gave us a chance to give his brilliant performance a standing ovation. |

FANTASTIC! Review by: , Oct 8, 2007 |
| WOW! It was not what I expected as it is a one-man show and I thought it had a cast. Well I must say I am utterly impredded. Chazz P's high-energy performance is nothing short of stellar. |

Review by: Margi, Oct 6, 2007 |
Chazz Palminteiri delivers an energetic, passionate, engaging performance, bringing to life the many characters any borough born New Yorker will know very well. This one act, one man show brought everyone to a thunderous standing ovation at the end. See it soon, I'm sure it will have to be a limited engagement due to the rigorous demands on Mr. Palminteiri. No one else could possibly duplicate this performance (Well, maybe DeNiro) Enjoy the ... read more show! |

AWESOME! Review by: Chrissy, Oct 5, 2007 |
| I just came home from seeing "A Bronx Tale", and all I can say is WOW! It was not what I expected however...if you're looking for a play with music from the motion picture, then this is not for you. Chazz Palminteri portrays 18 characters, and delivers a superb performance. The set is a simple, single set, and there are no other characters. Even my sister, who has not seen the movie, was awestruck by his acting and delivery. Definitely ... read more Tony Award material! |

Lin,
The musical you were hoping for has seemingly been dropped. This version, playing the Walter Kerr this coming October, was originally staged OFF-BROADWAY more than 10 years ago. It is a semi-autobiographical journey penned and performed by playwright/performer, Chazz Palminteri. Approx. running time of 90 minutes (with no intermission), it looks to be a MUST-SEE this coming fall. Tickets are available via BroadwaYBox discount ... read more assuming you are still interested.
