| The play was pretty true to the movie. The music was well done and ALL the actors were wonderful. The one who played 'Dolly's' character from the movie was spot on. We really enjoyed this play and recommend to anyone. |

| Saw 9 to 5 April 18th - I am an avid theater-goer and within the first 5 minutes I could tell that this was going to be a hit! The songs were fabulous and the 3 leading ladies were superb. Allison Janney who I knew to be a very talented actress sang exceptionally well. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. The writers stuck very close to the movie and many of the lines were exactly the same. The wonderful voices of Stephanie J Block and Megan Hilty, along with the fine acting of Allison Janney were not quite enough to override the silliness of this shows story.
For the price of the tickets, I want to be more than just merely entertained. |

| The show is great fun. Although Allison Janney cannot sing, she can act, and act she does! See it for Megan Hilty, the "blonde" bombshell with a fabulous voice. Stephanie Block as Judy Bernly is good as well. The music by Dolly Parton revives the classic idea of the American musical with numbers to advance the plot of the show. |

The positive points were: cast was excellent, especially Megan Hilty, and the production/scenic design really creative. However, even though the show was enjoyable as I was watching it, I pretty much forgot about it as soon as I left the theatre. Why? First of all, even though I'm a big fan of Dolly Parton's, I thought the music and lyrics were totally and utterly forgettable. They were serviceable, but if Parton's name wasn't attached ... read more to them, I doubt anyone would have given them a listen. Secondly, the story is silly but it worked in the movie because the screenplay was hilarious. Although I thought the cast in the show was great, Allison Janey and Stephanie Block are not comediennes (not even all that funny), so we lost that dynamic that Fonda, Parton and Tomlin had in the movie. Of the trio, only Megan Hilty was really hilarious.
If you go, I think you will enjoy the show, but I would not pay full price for it. At a discount, you'll like it--at full price, you will most likely be disappointed. |

Saw the show April 10 and it was to me the best new musical of the year. The three female leads outdid the original stars of the 1980 movie and each is a major talent in this production. Marc Kudish is the villian we love to hate. Dolly Parton's score was excellant with all type of numbers, my favorite was the 11 o'clock number called Get Out an Stay Out by Stephanie Block, which really shows how talented Dolly Parton is.... read more.
The staging was great, even the many scence changes were an event.
The book is somewhat faithfull to the orignal movie,and there are some new plots and characters.

| 9 to 5 is the best show you'll see on Broadway! I saw it during the first ever performance in previews. It is amazing! The whole cast is incredible! I was so excited that I was able to see this show! The whole thing is so funny! I've seen Avenue Q and Spamalot, and 9 to 5 was the funniest show I've seen. i've also seen Wicked, Gypsy (Patti LuPone), In the Heights, and many more, and 9 to 5 is now my new favorite Broadway show! | The show is amazing! Dolly outdid herself this time. The show was an absolute crowd pleaser with great performances by Janney, Hilty, and Kudisch.
