Amazing, a complete night out production Review by: rh, Jul 31, 2011 |
Saw this in las vegas at the venetian and was amazed. I knew the story a bit, but not completely and am not an opera fan. Even then I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this show for its dark, mysterious storyline and production. Absolutely fantastic performances, beautiful theatre hall designed specially for the Phantom, marvelous songs and voices, costumes, sets, everything was fantastic. was sitting in the orchestra row which is highly recomemnded ... read more and got the shock of my life when the ................. you have to see it to find out the piece de resistance. have purchased the music CD and still enjoy listening to the songs. Not sure how the NY show compares to the Las vegas one, but wouldn't mind going to see it again. |

| Just Saw Phantom the Las Vegas Experience, I am a huge fan of the show and with the length being 95 minutes down from 2 hours and 15 minutes I expected to miss some of the score and dialog. I did not the cuts were well made in the right places. My only complaint was that the final 1/4 of the show seemed rushed to get out at 95 minutes but I was not ready for it to end when it did. Loved the custom built theatre and the show is enhanced ... read more by the special effects. There are some cool 'Spectacle' moments in this show that far exeed the spectacle of the original show. The Chandelier is awesome and opulent and when it finally descends on the audience it really cruises down, no gently floating and then swinging toward the stage it heads straight down and the night I saw the show Patrons below it shrieked in terror it was awesome. The Venetian staff were lovely even upgrading my tickets from row N on the side to Row D right in the middle. Could see faces on the stage and everything. Love this show! love the Vegas Version best. Hopefully before it ends it's run Andrew Lloyd Webber and Co will Preserver this production on Tape and make it available to purchase for a grand alternative to a pathetic movie version. |

| This is the worst production of Phantom I have ever seen. They turned a theatrical marvel into a pyro-centered disneyland-esque magic show. If you want elaborate staging, see Le Reve. Good music, see Love. Incredible special effects, see Ka. Singing? See a headliner. Don't see this horrid excuse for a Las Vegas production. They don't deserve your money. In fact, we got ours back. They knew it was bad. |

Condensed version packs a punch Review by: caitlinette, Mar 25, 2007 |
I saw this show in June of 2006 when it was still in previews and it was awesome. The overture is so loud and powerful, and the new chandelier is magnificant. The orchestra is really full and sharp, and like I said, very loud! What an adrenaline rush! The cuts to the show are bothersome if you've seen it before, and might make you wonder if you're missing something if you haven't seen it before, but the gorgeous theater, equally gorgeous ... read more spanking new costumes, exciting special effects, and the performers elevate the show to something new and fabulous.
I saw Anthony Crivello as the Phantom. A very intense performer. He was wonderful!!! He gave everything he had to the role and really took me on the journey. Our Christine was Sierra Boggess -- what a find! 24 years old with an absolutely astounding voice that is so powerful and fresh and conveys emotion. Her acting was as intense to the Phantom's and I truly felt her conflict throughout the show. She also had great chemistry with Tim Martin Gleason who plays Raoul.
Go see it! True, it's not long enough, and there are some annoying theater goers in Vegas, but it's such a beautiful, moving, and powerful show (to be perfectly trite!). |

I rate 6 out of 10... Review by: ang, Jan 15, 2007 |
Didn't care for the Las Vegas show as much as the Broadway show. The Vegas show seemed rushed and I didn't like that there was no intermission. Also, latecomers continued to walk in all through the show and it was very distracting. The sound was a little low as well. We had trouble hearing what the actors were saying.
Masquerade was also dissapointing. There was a lot of mannequins in the masquerade part of the show. |

Phantom Of The Opera Vegas Hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review by: Chelle, Dec 22, 2006 |
| Well worth the money, a little loud in the beginning but the special effects and talented group of actors more than make up for it. Will not disappoint those that have seen it in other cities. |
