OY! Loved Mama Mia..thats for you Selma where ever you are.. Review by: Vegas08, Apr 17, 2008 |
| We saw Mama Mia at Mandalay Bay this past March. I loved the show but that is also because I am a big fan of Abba. I had no idea what the plot of Mama Mia was and was suprised that it was not predictable. All the leads were wonderful, the actress who played Sophie was a bit over the top but that was okay because she was balanced out by the music and the other cast members. The experience became more positive as the days went by and it grew ... read more on me. |

Sorry for your bad experience with Mama Mia. Review by: Love Mama Mia, Dec 6, 2007 |
| I have seen Mama Mia twice - once in New York and once in Atlanta. I am so sorry to hear that you did not feel it worth the money. Both performances I watched were worth every penny. It never hurts that I love ABBA and have for years. However, the acting and timing for comedy was done so well in both productions. We laughed and sang the entire time. Both audiences gave standing ovations for a long period of time after the performances. ... read more I am so sorry that your production was not up to par. My group would go back again. |

Not worth the cost Review by: , Nov 26, 2007 |
| Although I loved the music, I felt that the production was weak and unconvincing. We paid half price for the tickets but I still found it overpriced for such an amateurish performance. |

Total boredom Review by: Ginny, Aug 20, 2007 |
| Mamma Mia was by far the worst show I've ever seen - not just in Las Vegas. I actually found myself nodding off (and I am the type of person who doesn't need much sleep) - my daughter was also totally bored. We both wanted to leave, but didn't want to say anything to ruin it for the other -- how we wished we had just been honest! Even with the cost of the tickets, it was not worth the boredom of having to sit through this show. Oh, and ... read more by the way, I am a big fan of musicals and have seen many. I am totally flabbergasted at all the good reviews that I've seen about this show . . . |

Very Well Done Review by: sb_039, Jul 18, 2007 |
Saw this show at the Mandalay Bay on Wednesday, July 11th. I was impressed with the stage scenery and how well it was done. The music and cast were great! Knowing that this musical was written around the music of ABBA, I didn't know what to expect from the story line, but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a good show.

Not good, not bad... but....? Review by: VegasVisitor, Apr 11, 2007 |
We went and saw Mama Mia on April 8th at MandalayBay.
Overall, the production was "OK-to-Good". The people that I had attended with had seen the touring production a couple of years earlier. To each of us, that production was a step above of what we saw at Mandalay Bay.
The person that played the role of Sophie, while cute as a button, wasn't the best actress... which, is understandable, given that it's a loosely threaded ... read more storyline for a musical. The part that didn't materialize, is that she sometimes struggled on her pitch, and would occasionally struggle to maintain being in-tune.
In addition, I'm not sure the casting of the three-fathers-in-question was the best... but... again... it's about Abba's songs, and not so much the acting/storyline.
It was still an enjoyable evening, but... you kind of sense the audience felt a little bit let down. Perhaps the cast was just having an off night?
Finally... a minor thing.. but.. if you sit to either side of the theater.. near the front.. bring ear plugs... the blaring sound is deafening... to a point of being somewhat distracting and uncomfortable. |

If you like Musical Theatre, you will ENJOY THIS MUSICAL Review by: trtruman, Jan 18, 2007 |
| We really enjoyed Mamma Mia! This is a musical, so you can not compare to shows like Le Reve. If you like excellent singing and dancing and a great plot then you will like Mamma Mia. The songs are WONDERFUL to listen to. If you enjoy musical theatre at all, you will really enjoy this show. It is very humerous and touching. It is the feel good musical that is described as. GO SEE THIS! |

Small stage. Nothing spectacular. I actually found it boring and wanted to leave but also didn't want to as I spent the ticket costed $$.
I would not recommend this show if you are going to see it in Vegas. There are many other shows that would wow you more than this one.
This show might be good on Broadway, but was dissappointing in Vegas. |

Mamma Mia rocks Vegas! Review by: avkuehn, Jan 7, 2007 |
This Mamma Mia show is great! I have seen Mamma Mia on tour, in New York and now in Vegas. I love Mamma Mia, the show is almost perfect. It is hard for any musical to beat Mamma Mia. The Vegas production was just as good as the Broadway performance. The leads are VERY talented. This was one of the highlights of our trip. |
