The Chocolate Nutcracker, a modern take on the holiday classic will be performed at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando, Florida between November 20th and November 22nd, 2009. The Chocolate Nutcracker is a multi-cultural, theatrical dance adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s famed holiday classic Nutcracker.
Set in the early 50's Harlem, with a cast of theater professionals and 200 children throughout Central Florida, The Chocolate Nutcracker tells the story of young Claire and the Chocolate Nutcracker as the two journey around the world in a dream. Their global travels include choreographed movements, and a variety of dance genres - including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, gospel and hip-hop.
