Since its initial publication in 1969, Eric Carle's beloved children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar has delighted three generations of children. We all had that teacher who would read it in class, and it was always the highlight.
Now the book comes to life as a stage show that children (and the young at heart) are going bananas over. Australia's acclaimed The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show makes its US debut using 75 puppets to tell the story of the ravenous caterpillar as well as Carle's other creations The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, and The Very Lonely Firefly—all in about 60 minutes—and BroadwayBox has your first look.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show at off-Broadway's 47th Street Theatre through March 27.
