Miss Saigon Anthem “Why God Why” Is #WednesdayMood

Wednesday is that day when you think maybe it’s later in the week than it actually is. Then some know-it-all snarkily replies, “It’s Wednesday…” Then you’re totally deflated and like, “Why god?! Why?!” So that being said, here are 10 killer versions of Chris’ soaring Miss Saigon

solo “Why God Why”.

Kicking it off with current Chris, the powerful vocalist Alistair Brammer. He is talented, he is bae, and you have to see him at the Broadway Theatre.

Tveit broke out his Saigon at last year’s Elsie Fest and I don’t think we’ve ever fully recovered from it. There's also his all arms performance of it.

Who sells this number like longtime Broadway Chris, Will Chase?

Patrick Wilson, where the hell are you?! Come back to Broadway. My gosh, 30 seconds of glory.

Tony nominee Ramin Karimloo played Chris in the UK, and thank goodness he revisits it in concert because this is giving me life in a major way. I'd see him as Chris tomorrow.

Another former Phantom, Peter Jöback, puts his spin on it, and DAMN.

West End star Oliver Tompsett SLAYED it. Why isn’t he on Broadway yet? Come on over, join Alistair, Ramin, and Michael Xavier!

No video sadly, but if you were at the Carnegie Hall concert honoring Boublil and Schönberg, you can still close your eyes and see it.

The original Tony and Olivier-winning Kim performed Chris’ big number at this year’s MCC Miscast gala and it was worth the 25 year wait. Absolute queen.

I’m not familiar with Connor Bogart’s work but this is one of YouTube’s most viewed “Why God Why” and it’s obvious why…god why.
