As Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical celebrates a year in the West End, Australian costume designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner won the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Costume Design. Chappel and Gardiner have re-created their Oscar-winning Costume Designs, originally designed for the film. For their costume designs for both the film and stage production of Priscilla they have also won an Australian Film Industry Award (AFI), British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award (BAFTA), an Academy of Film Arts and Sciences of America Award (Oscar), Helpmann Award for Costume Design and the 2008 Green Room Award for Best Costume.
Earlier this month, Pricilla Queen of the Desert was voted for the best Musical by Whatsonstage.com readers. Oliver Thornton won Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, Brian Thomson won Best Set Design and the late Ross Coleman won the award for Best Choreographer.
